This project is ongoing and a complement to my other current project of securing a Raspberry Pi (or any other device connected to my network for that matter) by introducing an additional, more advanced firewall which traffic needs to route through.
My first attempt of a diagram explaining how pfSense is set up. Seems pretty easy if you follow a guide, but I’m trying to make it work with a USB to gigabit ethernet adaptor.
Static IP for the LAN adaptor is set to a random number I assigned (192.168.90.1) with a /24 subnet mask.
Current Progress:
Keeping the protocol set to HTTP, I’m still unable to access the web configurator via http://192.168.90.1.
Quick overview of online anecdotes shows that pfSense can be quite temperamental with USB adaptors, although there are just as many success rates with using one.
Future Work:
Benched for now.
